The Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given by Mississippi Institute of Arts (MIAL) recently, honored Robert Ivy. The award is given to people doing extraordinary works in categories, such as non-fiction, musical composition, fiction, and visual art. Also, it is judged by well-known leaders and funded by the non-profit making organization.
People who reside in Mississippi enjoy the opportunity of receiving this award. Besides, the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award is only reserved for artists who live in Mississippi, and they have done unique works that impact the world. After all, architectures are also artists because they design effective, beautiful buildings. The president of MIAL, Nancy LaForge, was quick to note that Robert Ivy has played an integral part in making architecture more accessible to people, which explains why he was also chosen to receive the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award.

About Robert Ivy
Robert first worked in 1981 as a principal at Dean/Dale. He also served at the U.S. Army before joining the architectural career. Robert Ivy graduated from Tulane University with a Master’s degree in Architecture. However, Ivy started his career in architecture in 1996 when he was working as an editor for Architectural Record. He was serving as the editorial director and vice president of Mcgraw-Hill Construction Media. While working here, Ivy oversaw several architectural journals and magazines such as HQ Magazine and SNAP.
AIA was formed in 1857, and it has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. Robert has worked at AIA for eight years. He has overseen the growth of the company since he joined in 2011. AIA has more than 260 buildings across the globe. Besides, AIA boosts of over 200 local, state, and international chapters. Additionally, it has seven global chapters in various countries, such as China and Canada. The institute avails resources and tools to assist its members in their businesses and careers. It also promotes the well-being of the public and economic vitality through its public policies. The institute also collaborates with the public, civic and government leaders to come up with recommendations to problems facing the world, communities, nations, and other institutions.
